Well I disconnected the cab. Found a little more rot. Not more than I thought though. So I had some buddies help me with getting the cab onto the other frame. I couldn't resist just setting the front end on so enjoy the pics. It gives me motivation to keep going even though sometimes it feels like it will never be done.
This Blog is designed to showcase my 1967 Chevrolet Pickup which was a C20 long bed. It has been converted to a C10 and the chassis and bed have been shortened to make it a short bed. It is going to be a RestoMod, or Muscle Truck. I also have postings from other projects that I have and this one that will be posted on a blog called http://boyescustoms.blogspot.com/ Thanks for looking.

Got more done than I thought I would
So this morning I woke up a little after 7 to catch the cool morning air and do a little work. Started by putting my front end together. Mostly its there, I still need to do the steering and sway bar from the other chassis. After that I decided to unhook my motor and take it out of the long bed chassis. Everything went pretty well until I noticed i hadn't taken off the tin cover on the bell housing of the trans so that was hanging up. After I got that off it was cake. I then had to get it on the other chassis. The problem with that is I have lowered the truck so much that I can't get the engine pullers legs under the front cross member. So I put it in from the back of the chassis, good thing I didn't have the cab on there. I also mated the overdrive tranny with the new motor.
Tell me what you think, I think it looks Sweet!
Long ways to go though.

Well I guess i am finding a little time.
Well not really that much time, but this morning when I woke up it was nice and cool out so I went out for a few hours and started tearing down what is left of the C20. Which is pretty much a running truck with no bed. I decided since I bought an engine hoist that I wanted to get the motor, even though its not rebuilt yet on the frame with the cab to see what my ride height was really going to be with the 4.5" front and 5" back drop. I need this thing to be level. So if I have to Get some blocks to lower the back then I will know. I also really want to see what it looks like kinda put back together, and I need to get started on the body work on the cab and front clip. It would be nice to paint it next summer. HAAAAH, dreaming. Anyway I love the look of a truck all tore down. Feels like progress.
So what do you think? my cab looks pretty clean eh? I am thinking I should just roll some steel to match and graft it in, but maybe not. I just know that the replacement rockers are thin and crappy anyone know of some real good ones?

Unexpected Progress
So the other day after a job flew south and I lost out on making some extra money I got some stuff done. Don't you find that when your mad at the world you just don't want any contact with it. Yeah so that is what I did. I ignored the world for half a day. I was able to weld in the brace plates for my frame. I wanted to use 3/16" but I ended up only being able to get 1/4". Hey I know its overkill maybe but at least I know its strong enough. I have to get the hang of welding again. The first one I welded in was OK at best. The second looked pretty good. So enjoy the pictures. Leave some comments.
Thanks for looking.
first one is at the top then the second one.

Update, I guess.
So I thought I needed to take some photos and do a little update. I haven't really done much for a while. My wife took over my shop with pieces of a play house swing set. I really also haven't had time because of school and work and all my other things that I have going on. So here are some photos. I hope that you guys like them. I really am having a hard time with the front on the drivers side. The thing is that side has been trouble from day one. I think I going to find a good half bed side in a junk yard and then weld and new section in. Well I guess that's it. I probably wont have that much in the way of updates for a while with school and all.

Spot welding!
Wow, so today I welded a lot of stuff. I lined up the body lines on the back and did a ton of spot welding. Well it felt like a ton to me. I kind of surprised myself with the way the lines on the body look. Generally when something looks way good I am always a little happy with myself. I was honestly a little worried about the body lines. I just started at the top and worked my way down. I do have a little bit of trimming left to do on the inside side of the bed, but I was tired of trimming so I just welded for a while. Thanks for looking.
PSS Does this bed look SICK or what!
